Atelier North

A Portland furniture studio with beautiful craft and an invisible brand. I gave them a voice, a look and a website that finally sells the workmanship — quote requests doubled within a season.

Overview

The challenge

Atelier North made heirloom-grade furniture but their site looked like a template — small photos, generic copy, no sense of the makers. High-intent visitors bounced before ever asking for a quote.

The brief: reposition the studio around craft and longevity, then rebuild the site so every page earns the next click toward a custom commission.

Approach

What I did

I spent two days in the workshop photographing process and interviewing the founders, then distilled it into a positioning line the whole site could hang on: furniture for the next hundred years.

The identity pairs a sturdy serif wordmark with warm neutrals and oversized process photography. The site is a single fast build — collection pages, maker stories and a quote flow that takes under two minutes.

Deliverables

What shipped

  • Positioning, messaging and tone of voice
  • Logo suite, palette, typography and guidelines
  • Marketing site with collections and quote flow
  • Photography direction and image system
The new site finally sounds like us. Customers arrive already convinced — quoting is the easiest part of my week now.
